Who We Are
LABS — the Los Angeles Basin Section — is a local section of the California Water Environment Association (CWEA), a statewide professional organization dedicated to protecting California's water environment. We serve engineers, operators, consultants, agency staff, and other water and wastewater professionals throughout the greater Los Angeles Basin region.
Our Role
As one of CWEA's local sections, LABS brings the resources and community of a statewide association directly to professionals in the LA area. We provide:
- Professional development through monthly technical presentations, workshops, and certification courses
- Networking opportunities at facility tours, conferences, and the annual awards banquet
- Educational programs covering water reuse, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and emerging environmental topics
- Community engagement through beach cleanups and service events

CWEA brings together thousands of water professionals across California through local sections, statewide conferences, certification programs, and advocacy.
