On Friday, October 5, 2007 past CWEA Board Director Mike Selna will facilitate a symposium called “Educational Pathways to Green Jobs” at Rio Hondo College. The event will introduce strategies on curricula development for water quality and operator training certification programs.
There will be a breakout session on water/wastewater jobs. The purpose of the symposium is to identify topics and subject areas, which could be included in the general community college curriculum. In addition, there is an interest in identifying two-year vocational/occupational degrees and programs, which can provide community college students with the skills and training necessary to fill environment-related internships and jobs.
